x Home Sweet Home x

Can't believe it's been nearly 2 weeks since we moved in to our new little home! It's gone so fast, but feels like we've been living here for weeks already, if not longer; I love it here so much, it's just perfect for us! ='] It's a wee bit soppy, but the first night that I spent unpacking here, (probably the second night here), I felt a little bit weepy that I was making a home for myself, at long last! So happy hehe ^_^

Got loads of stuff sorted out here already, carpets are down, white goods are installed and in full working order, t'internet set up (obviously....),  TV is licenced and most importantly, the Christmas tree is up =D teehee ^_^ still got loads to sort out and buy for the place though! But that will take years to achieve to get it just the way I want, but I should be sticking around here for a few yet :) hehe

Now, not that I'm complaining at all! But now that I am standing on my own two, I'm really struggling to keep on top of everything, and getting a bit stressy, but Sprog has been teething quite badly in the nights, so she wakes up at least twice every night, and gets up so early, and is now at the age where she is in to EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my golly gosh, and even when I tell her off, whether that be a low tone, a normal tone, or raising my voice, nothing phases her in the slightest! God help me when she starts her terrible twos! :( I hope she doesn't start early, either, I will cry. Lol. I need a glass of wine.... Or two...... Just give me the bottle! Haha xD

Anyways, coming back to the Christmas tree! It. Is. B-E-A-U-Tiful! It's so bushy, and it's 6ft, and at £15, from Tesco of all places, it was an absolute steal! :D hehe I have to say though, for my usual taste in festive tree decoration, it looks very modest, chic and stylish, as all I have on it is 3 2m strands of tinsel, about 20-some odd gold and red baubles, and a silver star atop, it looks maaaarvelous ^_^ hehe however, as I can't afford to buy or run fairy lights this year, I've not bothered buying any, although the decs (except the tree) were a gift from my aunt :D hehe I also don't have any ceiling decs or decs around the house, but I do have two beautiful handmade personalised stockings for Sprog and me, made by a mummy friend from playgroup, she did a wonderful job! :D she's very handy with a sewing machine or needle and thread :) As for advent calendars, Sprog and I also have those too! Sprog has a Peppa Pig one, which she loves..... teehee ^_^ I have a Cadburys Wish Upon A Star one, the chocolates are so chunky compared to other advent calendars! Lush ^_^

See?!!? Isn't it beautiful!!!!11111!!!eleven!!!11!!11!!1!1!1!!!!! Hehehehe

Anywho....... O_O ermm.... Moving on hehe

Can't wait to start welcoming visitors! Already had family round, and my best mummy friend :) Can't wait to get settled in properly as well though, even though it does feel like home already, my sofas aren't arriving until next Monday, so stuck sitting on two dining chairs and a garden reclining chair..... Lol =] still, Rome wasn't built in a day, I guess :) hehe

Right, readers, I must bade you goodnight, as I am knackered, it's late, and I know Sprog will be up for breakfast at sparrows fart (after needing at least 2 or 3 cuddles, and probably a bottle too!) x_X nnggghhhhhh lol love her heart, poor little poppet!

Nighty night!

A New Beginning

It has FINALLY happened! I'm so happy, excited, a bit nervous, slightly overwhelmed, and overall relieved! I have found my own little home just for Sprog and me! It's absolutely perfect for us, not too small, fairly convenient location, and neighbours who seem quite friendly (so far...)- as of Monday just gone, we have a 1 bedroom flat to call our own!

The lounge is huuuge.... well, it's definitely not on the small side, that's for sure! The bedroom is fairly generous; it's double, heck maybe even triple the size of our current room! Even the kitchen and bathroom aren't even pokey for a 1 bed flat! And in some of the flats that I'd looked at before, in some of the rooms I'd have been lucky to fit my tank ass in there and shut the door! xD Haha in fact, it's so perfect, even the hall doesn't make it feel cramped! I really can't wait for it to be ready to move in to; The Rents are being fab, they've been helping me pack stuff up and take it over already, took me out to Homebase, Argos and Carpet Right to buy stuff, and they started to decorate the whole place for me today! :') Gonna be living without a washing machine or fridge freezer for about a week or so, and no sofa's for nearly 4 weeks, but that's ok, we can definitely survive that :D hehe

I can't wait to finally have somewhere decorated exactly the way I want aswell, the lounge is gonna be gorgeous (I'm probably just biased....), but I've got a smokey grey carpet being laid in the lounge, and the sofas are a deep plum colour (both great against Sprog Stains!), and the walls are going to be a dusky purpley-pink colour, with décor (when I eventually can afford that stuff) will be white with intricate detailing. The bedroom is having a brown, beige and cream striped carpet laid, with soft apricot walls, and all décor etc will be a rainbow of different pastel colours! Perfect for mummy and Sprog ^_^ the hall will have a greyish beige carpet with almond walls, and the kitchen and bathroom will both have pastel yellow walls where it's not tiled. :) it's gonna be B. E. A. U. Tiful :') hehehe

Once it's all finished, I'll be posting before and after photos, just like on Homes Under The Hammer :') hehehe eeeeeep so excited!!! ^_^

Thanks for reading, everyone! Hope you're still enjoying my posts, and don't forget, if you have any ideas for posts you'd like to see, or whatever, or just want to stop by and say hero, please do! I'd love to hear from you :D

All the best, God bless xD

Here's One I Made Earlier

From Thursday 31st HAPPY HALLOWE'EN!!!!!!! Or Samhain if you celebrate it :)

In just a matter of 2 weeks, I can't believe how much has happened, how busy I've been! I shan't drag you through every menial detail, that would be just sadistic of me ;-)

Well the highlights include having an aunt and some cousins (but not all from that clan) stop over for a night, which was really nice to see them, but would've been a lot nicer to see the rest of them too, but they have their own lives and commitments, the eldest has been living it up in the South of France working for a holiday company! The second eldest is living in Scotland with her bump and boyfriend :') can't wait to meet them all hehe

On Friday, I got to remind myself of just how much of a lightweight I have become since being pregnant! I got to enjoy the company of my old friends from 6th form once again (which is a rarity- boooo!), and as it was one of their birthdays (Happy 23rd, again, Ms Bubbles ;-) hehe) we went to a ska night in a pub we've never been to before, and had a good giggle actually! Then by midnight, we went onwards to the chav pit that is Liquid Envy! Some good tunes, brought back some very good (albeit hazy...) memories of student nights out with the one and only Wine Girl! Lol :) However.... by 2.30, I was home, had glugged a pint and a half of water, and then tucked up in bed! Rock and roll..... Haha, I guess that was aprtly down to me trying to be sensible, and keep from feeling incredibly rough all day whilst trying to look after Sprog! It'd be a trillion times worse than just having your bog standard hangover day! Chasing a mischievous little imp all day, with a spinning head and a churning stomach...? Yeah, I'll pass on that one, thanks :P

Tuesday, I viewed a one bed flat from the council, was a nice central location, close to Uxbridge, but it was a 1 bed, and I didn't have a bath, just a shower, in a windowless room. But never mind, something will eventually come up! Just got to carry on being patient >_< lol

Halloween was an ok sort of day, eventually made it to Toddler World, where it was packed from pillar to post with crazy dressed up children running around, mainly aged between 3 and 5 (and I'm sure there were older ones there too....), with painted faces..... Had to tell a couple off for nearly running sprog and a mummy friend's baby over on a trike! One was pushing the other REALLY fast, and REALLY close to the edge of the mat that we were sat on! And from what I could see, they didn't have a parent telling them off! Grrrr!!! Moving on quickly.....

This weekend! *sigh of relief!*
The Rents went away for the weekend, for once! It was awesome, sis and me had a Twilight movie marathon spread over the 2 nights, Indian takeaway, got lots of housework done, and there was generally just a much more relaxed atmosphere! :D alas, they are now home, and another normal week is about to begin...... With another viewing! Of another 1 bed flat....... =|

Also, my best mummy friend and I have decided that starting from tomorrow, we are going to turn our lives around and get back on track! We are aiming to drop a dress size in time for Xmas! 2 months-ish is ample time, right? I'm a size 16-18, by the way, no idea how much I weigh, but I go by how my clothes fit, anyways, much easier to tell hehe so I shall keep you updated on that one!

So, til next time, readers! Hopefully I won't leave it as long this time!

I just ask one small favour from now on, as well as the +1's etc, please could you support me and help me along my journey to getting the slimmer, smoother curved body I used to have!

Scratch Scratch Scratch!!! Not For Those of A Weak Disposition......

Fleas!!!! Arrggghhhh!!!!!!

Misty has had fleas for the last couple of weeks or so, and yesterday, we finally got rid of them! After many times of trying to show and prove that she has them!
"She can't settle, look at her scratching constantly, twitching"
"No, she's been doing it a while" x_X
"These little black crusty things are bits of flea poo"
"Are they? They can't be, they're probably just a skin problem" x_X
I even put some of the flea poo on a piece of wet tissue and showed mum how it smudged as a reddish brown colour...

Other answers to my claims were:-
"But she hasn't been anywhere to catch them"
"Her back is always sensitive when you stroke her like that" [as she arches her back like a cat on heat, and her leg tries to scratch at 1 million rpm]
"Don't be silly, she's fine"

You'd think that a graduate in this field would be listened to....

I've feel totally grossed out, and completely embarrassed; only dirty people with dirty dogs get fleas, right....? =S ironically, we figured out it was when mum was cleaning the kitchen and hall floors that Misty would've caught them, as mum puts the rugs and Misty's bed on the patio-type area, where foxes and hedgehogs frequent! And poor Misty wasn't going to get treated until the weekend, when mum was home!!!

But it all changed yesterday evening when I was sat in the lounge with mum, and Misty laying in front of us, and I saw a flea walk over her back!!! I could only exclaim in disgust! And with that, mum rushed out to Pets At Home (20 minutes before they were due to close), and returned with some shampoo, flea spray for the house and a flea collar! Thank god! So then, at long last, a flea killing spree ensued, the hoover was roaring, Misty was whimpering (she doesn't like baths!), dad was grumbling, and the spray can was whooshing, and within an hour, we were flea free at long last!

It made me laugh though, as when mum was giving Misty her bath, she got scared and called me in to the bathroom as the water ran a brown bloody colour and thought poor Misty was bleeding (remember the flea poo on wet tissue?)... When I reminded her of it, and she realised just how much flea poo there was, she was very quick to apologise to Misty, I'm still waiting for my apology though, but I'm not holding my breath, I never get one lol

Ah well, Misty's much happier now! :D peace and cleanliness is restored, and I had a marvellous and ridiculously long shower last night too lol

Hope I haven't grossed you out too much.... Don't worry, I felt sick myself lol

Please keep +1'ing me, tis much appreciated! Can't believe how many views I've had in just a week or so! Comments, suggestions, etc are also welcomed!

Til next time, toodle pip! xXx

Take A Deep Breath....

Aaaand breathe!

Had a mad few days lately, we watched my niece over the weekend, which was lovely to see the girls running around and playing so nicely together! It was absolutely exhausting though, trying to keep eye on the both of them all the time, they're nuts! Kudos to parents of multiple births, not that I thought any less of them before, but experiencing something as similar to it for myself, you've really got to have your wits about you ALL THE TIME!!! Lol I have to say though, on Saturday, I was real proud of myself in the morning, as I managed to settle the both of them down to nap, with bottles, and then clean the kitchen and tidy the lounge, and all within an hour! =D yay me hehe Kudos to child-minders as well, by the way!

Saturday afternoon was also such fun, it was my Texan friend's daughter's second birthday party! Her parties are fab, cooking is always tasty, and atmosphere is always very welcoming and fun! And even the babies and toddlers (all 14 of them!) were on their best behaviour! I was even more knackered afterwards, as sprog decided that she would spend a majority of the time walking all the way from the lounge, through the kitchen, the conservatory, across the decking to the back of the garden and back again, whilst eating or drinking (and therefore, not looking where she's going, so catching every obstacle)!

The rest of my weekend was rather lazy, even by comparison, as both sprog and I kept our pyjamas on (not that sprog had the choice...); my excuse is due to the amount of disturbed nights' sleeps we've had lately (thanks toothy pegs!). Also, niece went home, that's about it really lol

Yesterday was playgroup, nothing out of the ordinary to report there really, aside from a rather, ermmm.... (trying to think how diplomatically I can put this....) well, all the other children were rather dwarfed, thank god we're in a bigger venue from next week! (phew!) Hehe

Got loads of housework done today, and all I can think is "why didn't I buy the stair gate earlier??!" lol still, I've got my feet up this evening with a lovely glass of rose, followed by a marvellous brew =]

Well done if you've made it through this evening's entry, I probably ought to cut them down a bit, only put in the interesting stuff, thoughts on this, anyone? Hehe please +1 and share and stuff as well, this website keeps on at me about it being shared and stuff hehe =]

So, til next time! Take it easy ^_^ xXx

So Excited I Might Wee!

Ahhhhh what a day it's been!

I had an unexpected phone call from Notting Hill Housing Association today, offering me a viewing on a 1 bed flat, which was good news anyways! But then she said because I'm in Band B with a child (which was news to my ears!), I'd be better off waiting just a few months for a 2 bed place to come up! Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! BUZZING!!!! Lol I just had a look at the feedback page to see if my positions on the list for previous "bids" had also changed, and they have!!! On a 2 bed maisonette, I had gone from about half way (out of over 200) to "Between 11-20"!!!!! :')

I forgot some stuff in my entry yesterday, what I've done with my life until now, well I worked as a Haven FunStar for 4 months in '08 in my gap year, where I met my first ex nicknamed Lumpy, re-sat some A level exams, applied to uni twice, and eventually ended up in Northampton through the Clearing process (which I misread as Nottingham....), met some awesome people there, a lot of whom I'm still in touch with. Messed about a bit and enjoyed my independence away from The Rents, started working for Boots again (worked there for short periods in '06 and '08) where I learnt lots about doing make up, helping people choose the right fragrances, processing films and baby advice for about 3 months before I met Sprog's daddy, and since then, I've met some awesome people, and life is still a rollercoaster =D *and breathe....*

Gosh, that's a long sentence.... =S

Please feel free to leave me +1's, comments, suggestions, well wishes, whatever, but no hating please (why read if you hate....?) O_o

Ta-ra! ^_^

The Beginning In The Middle

Ok, a blog, ermagerd, how to start... O_O

Well, I'm Sophie, 24, and a single mummy with a beautiful daughter, who's a little monkey, and a BSc(Hons) degree in Applied Animal Studies from Northampton University/Moulton College. I live at home with The Rents and am doggedly determinedly trying to find my own place to move in to. I'll only say a little about why I'm a single mummy, as this was never the way I had planned being a mummy, and for my own protection, I don't want to divulge too much information, but my daughter's father turned out to be not such a nice young man after all.... But we still see his parents, who are lovely, they'll crop up quite often in my blogs, so I'll label them..... The Others (as in my daughter's "other grandparents").

In myself, I guess you could say I'm a fairly (debatably) shy-ish person, at least at first, I can be quite resilient, and I like to make a good impression, although I've made a major tit of myself before. Love my music (predominantly rock and metal), but I'll listen to most things if they come on the radio or whatever; plus I love spending time with my friends, going for coffees and taking sprog to playgroups and stuff =]

Not sure how well I'll do at keeping this up to date; I used to struggle keeping a diary when I was younger, although that was until I'd started having a tough time at home and school when I was about 14, and I managed to keep it going for a good couple of years or so, so we'll see :) hehe. If you can't be bothered to read my regular whinges about my life (I can be quite a discontented person when someone rocks my boat, but then who isn't happy at those times...?), then good luck reading on from here..... Just sayin' ;-) hehe
